Bryan Bowers founded Bowers Development in 2014, driving it to become one of the fastest growing real-estate development firms in Central New York. Having spent his entire career in the environmental consulting industry, Bryan identified a niche opportunity to utilize his other business (Asbestos & Environmental Consulting Corporation) to value-engineer remediation projects in order to quickly and cost-effectively redevelop contaminated properties. Between his two businesses, Bryan currently employs 25 full-time employees out of his East Syracuse office location.

Our Mission

The unfortunate reality of Upstate New York is that much of the industrial success of the past has vanished. Left behind are contaminated properties that were abandoned, in some cases decades ago. Asbestos, PCBs, petroleum spills, heavy metals, chlorinated solvents, and more are commonly found on old industrial sites. It’s not much different in our urban cores – vacant buildings quickly fall victim to copper thieves and vandals who ransack the interior of buildings to the point of no return. The rates at which these properties are accumulating far outpace the renovation efforts statewide.

Bowers Development is committed to revitalizing Upstate New York. Whether it’s removing or replacing an infamous eyesore or rehabilitating an abandoned building, we are helping add value to communities, one project at a time. We are not bound by geographic region and rural towns versus urban metropolises make no difference to us. We seek out municipalities that are eager to make meaningful change – that’s who we want to work with and where you’ll find our projects.

Our projects provide communities with the following benefits:

  • Eliminating environmental barriers, significantly improving the building / site’s attractiveness and marketability.
  • Returning underutilized and municipally-owned properties back to the tax rolls.
  • Demolishing blighted properties, which improve the neighborhood’s appearance and increases nearby property values.
  • Utilizing local businesses and suppliers to complete work throughout each development project’s life-cycle.
