Our Plan
The building located at 253 Genesee Street in Utica, NY was once home to the New Century Club, a women’s civic organization established in 1893. Built in 1826, the building was designed by architect Frederick H. Gouge, is notable for its Greek Revival style, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
The building was practically falling down when it was acquired, having been neglected for years. Although the roof had fallen into the building in several places, the main room and exterior remained surprisingly intact. Once renovations are complete, the New Century building will once again be a prime downtown landmark for businesses to call home.
